Work Readiness Programme

TTBISA was selected in 2012 as the sole training provider to over 750 youth about to enter the world of work by the western cape provincial government. TTBISA created the training programme including all learning material. This programme has been successfully rolled out from 2011 to 2013 and includes training and placement for youth with matric but no work experience.

Financial Literacy programme

TTBISA was awarded the tender to offer over 2000 disadvantaged individuals basic financial literacy training. The result was awe inspiring and truly motivational to see what a difference the training made to these individuals lives. TTBISA was commended again on the high level of quality training offered and within the prescribed time period. From 2011 until early 2014 TTBISA has offered basic financial literacy training to over 4000 people in the Western Cape in partnership with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism.

Housekeeping and Infection Control Training

TTBISA was selected as the training provider to over 150 staff in Western Cape hospitals housekeeping and infection control training. This was a pilot project but the feedback has been awesome. This was offered to the following hospitals: Karl Bremer, Red Cross Children’s Hospital, City of Cape Town Hospitals.

Housekeeping Training

TTBISA was selected by the Department of Economic Development & Tourism to recruit and train 50 housekeepers. TTBISA also provided assistance with placements.

The Institute also provides recruitment and allocation services to students and companies all around South Africa.

Informal Small Business Development Certificate
- nationwide training for the clothing bank’s recipients. A total of 287 ladies in 2 years. Accredited by the WR Seta.

Labour Law Certificate Course – 2 week course on Labour law for the executive management of Metrorail. This programme was done in coalition with UCT’s Insititute of Labour and Development. Speakers included Judge Dennis Davis, Professor Halton Cheadle, Professor Paul Benjamin, Professor Evance Kalula, CCMA Commissioner Sarah Christie, Professor Barney Jordaan.

Business Skills Training – 160 entrepreneurs from the Tourism Enterprise Partnershipwere trained on Business Skills module including Finance, Marketing, Business Management, HR.

An assortment of training including Customer Service, Kitchen Skills, Supervisory Development, Management Development programmes for Fedics.

Management Development Programme for existing and newly recruited(recruitment by the Academy) staff of Rohloff Group t/a KFC Western Cape.

Supervisory Empowerment Programme and Customer Service training for Boston Launderers (Bidvest).

Waitering Training for Louis Group Hotels.

Breedekloof Wine & Tourism – housekeeping and waitron training for existing staff in a variety of establishments.

Prestige Group – over 80 staff trained to work in the Cape Town Soccer World Cup Stadium.

Headlines Leisure Management – waitrons trained for work in Grandwest Hotel & Entertainment World.

Provincial Government Western Cape – over 200 youth trained on entrepreneurship and Tourism.

The Clothing Bank SA – TTBISA has been offering full time learnerships to the Clothing Bank beneficiaries; single working mothers trying to open their own businesses. In 2013 TTBISA offered 38 ladies New Venture Creation Full Time Learnerships and in 2014 TTBISA is offering 154 TCB ladies throughout South Africa Informal Small Business Creation Learnerships.

SaveIt – TTBISA is currently offering SaveIt learners a 1 year learnership on Informal Small Business Creation.

Peermont Trust aka Emperor’s Palace Gauteng – TTBISA offered 50 learners Hospitality learnerships throughout 2013 in the following disciplines: Accommodation Services, Food & Beverage, Reception Services and Professional Cookery & Culinary Arts.

Anix Consulting – TTBISA offered 127 learners via Anix Consulting the opportunity to enter the hospitality industry via a 1 year learnership sponsored by Cathsseta.
